There are several instances where a mural might make sense for you and your events. And if you get a reusable mural, you could share it between several of these department activities (and maybe share budgets as well!)
Special Events
These murals are excellent activities for any large special events where you need to bring in extra activities (like July 4th events, Spring Festivals or Fall Festivals, Back To School Events, etc.)
Camps
Consider murals for camps or day camps. They’re very flexible activities, in that you can use them for as long or as little as you like. And they also work with more age groups than you might think
Day Care Areas
If you have day care areas, this would be a nice addition. It’s a nice wall decoration, and an easy-to-use activity.
General Common Areas
This might even work in a general area of your facility.
Mobile Recreation
If you have a mobile recreation unit, where you take recreation activities out to the community, this would be a nice addition, and a way to reinforce some of your themes (healthy eating, get outside and play, etc.) We can also integrate any of your marketing/branding characters into our designs.

Consider the Rigid Wipeable Plastic if you plan to mount it semi-permanently on one of your walls (either in a general area, or in a themed party room).

Consider the Wipeable Tarp if you’d like to be able to put it up and take it down whenever you like. (Mural comes to you in one piece, with grommets like a regular banners. Rolls up and ships in a tube.)

Both of the above mural types are reusable. Use Crayola Markers or Crayola Washable Paint or Crayola Tempera Paint, and wipe them with just water and a sponge. If you’re INDOORS, though, and would like to avoid water runoff while you’re wiping, then you’ll want to use the markers, which you can wipe with just a wet sponge.

Consider the Single-Use Tarp if you just need a mural for a one-day or one-weekend event. OR if you want to move the mural somewhere for display afterwards. (Note, it may not be painted well enough that you’d want to display it, especially if you don’t staff it with enough adults. But the Signature-Message Mural idea might be nice to display, or to send to troops overseas.) This material is water-resistant enough to withstand rain during the event.

Consider our Paper Murals if you just need a mural for a one-day or one-weekend event, and you want the least expensive larger mural. These can be up to $300 less than a Single-Use Tarp (or $450 less than the Single-Use Tarp and Rental Stand combo). But they need a wall to tack or tape onto. Our rental stand doesn’t work with these. This is a heavy-duty paper, but it‘s NOT waterproof, so have a plan to move it or cover it if it rains. These are printed in 2’ tall strips.

Consider these for smaller events or parties. These are in a much lower price range, they’re still great coloring activities using the same character sets as the larger murals. They just don’t provide the same visual that the larger murals do. These are paper, and are not reusable. They work best with crayons.

We have dozens of designs that emphasize active and healthy activities. Note that we’ve drawn each character, tree, flower, building, etc. separately, so we can mix and match to put exactly what you’d like into your design. Scroll down to see some examples.
These first three examples show different sets of active characters. Below these are two more designs where we drew new illustrations just for a client.
In the first design below, we drew the building in the background from a photo the client provided. They also gave us a list of characters they wanted us to draw for them---teens working with younger kids, groups reading, jump-rope, hula-hoop, chess, art and basketball. In the second design for an Earth Day event in New York City, we drew a building from a photo (brown building with the clock), and the big butterfly from their event logo. We had all the active characters, as well as the NYC skyline.
