We offer this stand for short-term rental or for purchase. Made from the same light-weight, heavy-duty aluminum tubing and connectors of a high-quality speaker stand, this stand breaks down easily into a padded carrying bag the size of a golf bag (the black bag in the picture at right). It weighs about 44 pounds when packed, so one person can carry it.
The stand gives you the flexibility to put the stand anywhere on your event site. The stand has 4’ crossbars at the two bottom corners, enabling it to stand by itself.
Outdoor UseBecause of wind, it must be tied to ground stakes (as shown) when used outdoors. Sand bags on the feet are not adequate. Stakes and straps are included in rental or purchase.
Use on Hard Top
You still need to tie to four heavy tie points, like the concrete buckets or waterbarrels used to secure 20x20 tents. Your tent vendor can likely supply these for you.
Indoor UseThis stand works well indoors---by which we mean out of the wind. You do not need to do the tie downs. It stands fine all by itself, even with people painting on it. If you are still in the wind (say, under a picnic pavillion), then you’d need to tie it to tie-points or ground stakes as if you’re outside.
We offer our stand rental as a convenience to our mural clients. The rental fee is modest, as it includes 2-way shipping. We only rent to clients who buy, or have bought, a mural. We can only rent to clients within the US and Canada.
Rental Fee
We charge $150 (USD) to rent the stand for the duration of your event (one or two weeks). This includes both inbound and return shipping (UPS Ground, within the mainland US). If you need the stand longer, or for more events within a month or two, we can often accomodate your request and work out a slightly higher rental price.
Stand Return Process
Within the US, we can just send UPS back to your office to pick up the stand. We check with you first to make sure it’s ready.
Canada
We do rent these stands to Canada. We charge $200 (USD), which covers shipping costs to and from your office, as well as customs fees we pay on the return shipment. (Remember that when the stand ships to you, it’s technically an import, so UPS will charge customs fees that are not included in our prices.)
Canadian Stand Return
We can’t just send UPS to your door in Canada (at least not without paying international overnight rates). We can do all the paperwork for you--waybills and an export invoice--so it crosses the border smoothly and gets billed to us. But we still need you to get this to a UPS location or driver

We sell these stands as a convenience for our clients. We do not mark them up above the costs for parts and a modest labor amount for assembly. We’re glad to offer a parts list and blueprint if you’d like to pursue your own stand, or comparison shop. We will only sell them to clients who buy, or have bought, a mural.
Flexible Sizing
The stand is modular. Use three crossbars to make a 12’ wide stand, four crossbars to make a 16’ wide, and all five crossbars to make a 20’. You could even use just one crossbar and have a 4’ wide stand for other banner. The uprights are telescoping, so they can accommodate heights from approx 3.5’ to 6.5’.
| 12’ wide stand | $399 + optional $150 padded carrying bag + $40 shipping (UPS Ground to mainland USA) |
| 16’ wide stand | $499 + optional $150 padded carrying bag + $40 shipping (UPS Ground to mainland USA) |
| 20’ wide stand | $525 + optional $150 padded carrying bag + $40 shipping (UPS Ground to mainland USA) |
We can ship these stands to any country. Call or email for a shipping quote. Remember that with any goods you import, there will be customs broker fees, as well as duties and taxes, that are not included in our prices.

We have a limited quantity of our discontinued 2010 model stand at a discounted price. This stand is made from “Schedule 40” (very rigid) PVC tubing. Even though it’s the rigid PVC, it’s still not as rigid as the aluminum of our other stands, hence more center posts. This stand breaks down into two canvas carrying bags about the size of golf bags. Each bag weighs about 40 pounds, so one fairly strong person could carry both bags at once.
Height - We only make these stands to accommodate a 5’ tall mural.
Tie Down To Ground Stakes
Like our other stand this stand MUST be tied down to ground stakes so the stand won’t blow over in the wind (shown in these photos). We provide curly-cue ground stakes with the purchase, but if these aren’t working well with the ground in the mural area, you need to provide your own ground stakes. We also include the tie-down straps.
Use on Hard-Top or Asphalt (Outdoors)
The mural can certainly be used on a hard surface. However, in this case, the provided ground stakes obviously won’t work, so if you’re outdoors, you MUST provide four (4) heavy tie-points to strap the mural to. This can be water barrels or concrete buckets. We usually say “whatever you’d use to tie down a 20x20 tent.” Sand bags are not adequate.
Indoor Use
This stand is not perfect for indoor use. It really needs to the strapped to tie points to not droop a little to one side under it’s own weight. We know it’s not as elegant, but you need the straps even if you’re indoors out of the wind on this PVC stand.
